A man found in a car off the road on Thursday in Waikoloa died of a medical condition, an autopsy confirmed.

A man found in a car off the road on Thursday in Waikoloa died of a medical condition, an autopsy confirmed.

Robert J. Cooley, 49, of Hilo, was driving on Waikoloa Road east of mile marker 2 in a 2004 Nissan Altima four-door sedan when the car ran off the right side of the road and rolled on to a small rock embankment, where it came to a rest, police said.

He suffered a fatal medical condition not specified in the release.

He was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital, where he was pronouned dead at 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
